Wedding Venues on the Kāpiti Coast - from north to south

We don't know think there is a comprehensive list of wedding venues on the Kāpiti Coast out there, so we put one together!



  • Atwood Gardens, Manakau – Relaxed garden/country-style wedding set on a private residence with a 130 year old country home. The grounds span 10 acres with lots of choices for your ceremony.   • Tatum Park, Manakau - Tatum Park has 32 acres of parkland and has accommodation for up to 160 people. It has an outdoor chapel framed by native bush, a lawn surround by trees and a summer house, a colonial Homestead and a conference room.   • The Milk Station, Otaki – Stunning Mediterranean-style wedding venue with indoor and outdoor, including European inspired gardens. Five star accommodation on site, including bridal suite. www.themilkstation.co.nz

  • Trinity Gardens, Otaki – For intimate weddings for up to 50 people. Trinity Farm is a 10-acre rural property in Otaki with a 3-acre country garden and purpose-built barn. It includes rose arbours, cherry cherries, a pond, an old 1890s homestead, stables, bar and pear orchard. There is a courtyard for canapés, petanque and the barn is set up for receptions. www.trinityfarm.co.nz

  • Anam Cara Gardens, Otaki – With ten acres of gardens, there are several different ceremony options available. It also has a covered outdoor seating area, a modern function centre with picturesque outlook, seating for 120+, a bar, a commercial kitchen and a separate dance floor complete. It also has an indoor ceremony option set against a plant wall, bringing the beauty of the outdoors in. Accommodation is available. www.anamcaragardens.co.nz

  • Waihoanga Retreat, Otaki Forks – Waihoanga is set in 10 acres of NZ bush bordered by the Otaki River. It has lawn and gardens for a ceremony, indoor spaces, outdoor fire, space for marquees, glamping and outdoor games with accommodation for up to 80 people, including camping, the lodge, huts, cabins and a yurt.   • The Winemaker’s Daughter, Te Horo - The Winemaker's Daughter is set back in a rural setting, with a rustic dining space under flowering Bouganvilia and native trees. Ceremonies can be inside or outside. https://www.facebook.com/WinemakersDaughterTehoro/

  • Springfield House, Ruth Pretty, Te Horo – Springfield House has a 1910 restored colonial homestead is set in a 2-acre garden with sweeping lawns, established trees and a stream. Comfortably seats up to 40 guests inside, plus an enclosed verandah protected from the weather, which is ideal for pre-dinner drinks. If numbers are larger, they can organise a marquee on the lawn – for up to 200 guests. There is a charming small church of St Margaret’s situated at the foot of Springfield’s drive.   • Te Horo Hall, 54 School Road, Te Horo - Te Horo hall is large hall built-in 1914. It has a raised stage and tables and chairs are included in the hire. Has capacity for 250 people. It has a hall and supper room with kitchen. There is also a deck, large grassed area and tennis courts outside. There is a small church, St Margaret’s also on School Road. www.kcdc.govt.nz

  • Sudbury, Pekapeka – Sudbury is set on a ridge overlooking the valley and you can make your wedding vows under the imposing pergola which perfectly frames views. In inclement weather, the Garden Bar with its open fire or the rustic Hay Barn are available for your ceremony. There is also a courtyard garden for mingling.   • The Glass Chapel, Waikanae - A rustic, glass chapel under the native bush of the Waikanae Hills and looking out to the sea in the gardens of a celebrant's home. www.simplicityevents.nz/wedding-venue

  • Nga Manu Nature Reserve, Waikanae – With wetlands and bush/forest setting in their 14 hectares of nature reservce, here are plenty of spaces to get married. There is a space, called the Robin’s Egg, that can be used for up to 90 people, with a large deck and lawn in frn to fit. Ther is a cottage available that an be used as a dressing room or accommodation for up to four people. www.ngamanu.co.nz

  • Kefalonia, Waikanae – In the “Garden Area” of Waikanae, Kefalonia has sprawling lawns, gardens and high trees creating a romantic setting for a special ceremony and grand outdoor celebration. Inside, there are spacious lounge and dining rooms enhanced with garden views and provides an impressive setting for each couple to create their own special reception. www.kefalonia.co.nz

  • Otaihanga Boat Club, Otaihanga – The Boat Club is right on the south bank of the Waikanae River. The Club was restored in 2005 after floods and is a now a community hub. It has tables and chairs and a kitchen, hall area and an outside covered (optional) area available for weddings. www.otaihangabc.org.nz

  • Willows End, Otaihanga – This is a 3-acre lifestyle property surrounded by nature. people. As well as a Fritz Einhofer designed house, it can host much larger groups in the grounds of this beautiful home.   • Greenmantle Estate, Otaihanga– The Greenmantle Estate Lodge was built in 1942 and is set amid established gardens with heated pool and hot tub in nikau bush. Ceremonies can be hosted in the English-styled grounds or inside the nikau chapel. There is a silk-lined marquee set up for the reception. https://greenmantle.co.nz/

  • Southwards Car Museum, Otaihanga – Southwards has many spaces and rooms that can be used and has a theatre that can be used as a large ballroom styled room for a reception. There is also a number of outdoor spaces that can be used, include The Dell that is private with a bush backdrop and next to a lake.   • Kapiti Boating Club, Paraparaumu Beach – The Boating Club is right on Paraparaumu Beach, directly opposite Kapiti Island and near the Paraparaumu Beach Shops. The Club rooms are available for hire. There is a downstairs room and a mezzanine second storey with a deck that runs the length of the room. Downstairs there is a hall, kitchen and bar. It can hold 120-150 people depending on the style of the event and has a commercial kitchen on site. https://kapitiboatingclub.nz/

  • The Waterfront, Raumati Beach – The Waterfront is a bar and restaurant in Raumati Beach carpark that looks right over the beach and to Kapiti Island. It is available for hire for weddings. http://waterfrontbar.co.nz/

  • Raumati South Scout’s Hall, Tiromoana Road, Raumati – This is a small hall in a residential area of Raumati South. Owned by the local scout's group but is hired out for functions. Has a kitchen and toilets. http://www.scoutgroupdirectory.co.nz/raumati-scout-group/

  • Raumati South Memorial Hall, Tennis Court Road – This hall is run by the Kapiti Coast District Council and has a large hall and smaller room available. It is set in a park with a playground on one side and tennis courts/skatepark/basketball and netball court on the other. It has usual hall facilities including a stage. www.kcdc.govt.nz

  • Matai Huka, Paraparaumu - Set amongst native bush on a rural property beneath the Kapiti Coast Hills, Matai Huka Garden Weddings offers a venue for your ceremony, reception and photographs, and can include styling, planning and on the day co-ordination. http://mataihuka.co.nz/

  • Paekakariki Surf Club – Right at the far end of Paekakariki beach, the local surf club has its two storied clubrooms. The upstairs is available for hire for weddings.   • Paekakariki Memorial Hall – This hall is opposite the beach and next to the village’s main grounds and park. It has the usual basic hall facilities and a stage and has windows overlooking the beach. It is run by the Kapiti Coast District Council. www.kcdc.govt.nz

  • St Peter’s Hall, Paekakariki – While this hall is next to St Peter’s Church, the hall itself was sold to the community and is run by the Paekakariki Community Trust. The Trust has been restoring the Hall. It is right in the heart of the village with the shops and a two-minute walk to the beach. It has a downstage, kitchen and toilets, all of which have been recently renovated.
